Dr. Krishna joins Psych Associates of Maryland after spending more than ten (10) years as a physician researcher in the field of neuroscience. For his pioneering research, clinical expertise, and teaching excellence, he has received a number of awards from the University of Maryland, including: the Nursing Excellence Award in 2015 and 2016 and the Walter Weintraub Award for Clinical Teacher of the Year UMD in 2015. He also teaches and supervises residents, medical students, nursing students, psychology students and graduate research students.

During a NeuroStar Advanced Therapy treatment session, a magnet similar in strength to that used in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine is used to stimulate nerve cells in the area of the brain thought to control mood.
